The staff were friendly and helpful The food was good.
The entrance hall and reception were shabby. The bedroom smelt slightly musty.

A good, basic business-type hotel. Clean room, recently refurbished.

Hotel was well presented, we truly enjoyed this place.
We had an excellent quality and hot meal in the morning and some good food at the downstairs bar.

Well positioned at the centre of the city.
I was disapointed with the evening dinner. The beef and ale pie had a crust which was too hard to cut.

The hotel was a perfect base for exploring Ely's historic sites, especially with the cathedral just a short walk away. I really appreciated the warm hospitality from the staff, who went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The food offerings were delightful, with a great selection and everything served hot. parking was a bit of a hassle, as spaces were limited and we had to use a public lot nearby.

Room larger than expected, and seemed to be recently decorated. Staff polite and helpful.
Windows could have done with a clean. Easter Sunday we chose to have dinner in the hotel. The staff started to lay up breakfast at 20.15, until I asked them to stop; not very good.

Proximity to Ely Cathedral, Historical Ambiance, Centrally Located Bar
Reconsider the limited parking arrangements!!! Outdated room decor and inadequate bathroom cleanliness are also areas for much-needed improvement!!!

The location was excellent for visiting Ely Cathedral and down by the river.
The hotel is due for a refurb. in 2 weeks time and as such looks and feels a bit tired. It will be closed for 6 weeks during the refurb.

A spotlessly clean room with very good facilities which ensured a most comfortable night's sleep.

Superb size for a couple in our double room with a massive bed and an inviting settee.
The room needed some cosmetic attention, with dated décor and some paint flaking off the walls, giving it a less polished look. Parking is limited, and it involves navigating the one-way system around town, so it's a bit of a hassle. Some breakfast options came out lukewarm, but this varied, and luckily, we found some dishes that were quite enjoyable. The window in our room couldn't open, a downside. It created a somewhat cramped feeling that some might not appreciate on a hot day.

It was very central for my visit to Ely Cathedral, all of the staff were very helpful and polite apart from one who was a bit abrupt and unwelcoming to begin with (she was foreign so this may have been a cultural/language issue rather than unhelpfulness)
My room (Room 101) was very close to a door (to go downstairs to the ground floor) which slammed every time someone went through this which was very annoying , it could easily be remedied with a small disk of cork or foam on the door frame. In addition there was a creaky floor board outside my door which creaked every time some one stepped on it. Although these are small things they were annoying but could be easily rectified. Apart from these though I was very happy with my stay.
